Wire, Europe’s leader in secure communication and sovereign collaboration, and Collabora Productivity, the company behind Collabora Online, today announced a strategic partnership to advance secure, interoperable, and sovereignty-focused collaboration capabilities for organizations globally.
The partnership brings together two European technology providers with a shared commitment to open standards, transparent architectures, and verifiable security. It is designed to support governments, critical infrastructure operators, regulated industries, and enterprises seeking modern collaboration solutions operated under European jurisdiction and governance.
The Wire–Collabora partnership reinforces the growing demand for European alternatives to proprietary collaboration ecosystems operated outside the EU. By aligning secure communication, structured file management, and open productivity technologies, the two companies aim to contribute to a more resilient and interoperable digital ecosystem in Europe.
Both organizations share a long-standing focus on security-sensitive environments and data-protection-driven customers. The partnership supports customers who prioritize sovereignty, compliance readiness, transparency in technology architecture, and long-term independence from closed cloud platforms.
As part of the partnership, Wire and Collabora will work together to enable seamless, sovereignty-aligned document collaboration experiences within Wire’s secure workspace environment, including future availability as part of Wire Drive — Wire’s upcoming sovereign workspace offering. The collaboration emphasizes European control, interoperability, and optionality, while maintaining Wire’s model of a unified product, single vendor relationship, and consistent support framework for customers.
Benjamin Schilz, CEO of Wire, said:
“Digital sovereignty requires strong European collaboration between trusted technology providers. Partnering with Collabora strengthens our ecosystem and reinforces our mission to provide secure, interoperable collaboration for organizations that cannot compromise on control, transparency, or jurisdiction. This partnership aligns with our strategy of building a sovereign workspace that customers can rely on end-to-end under a single, accountable vendor relationship.”
Michael Meeks, CEO, Collabora Productivity:
“We are pleased to partner with Wire, a company that shares our commitment to openness, sovereignty, and user control. Together, we are helping organizations reduce dependency on proprietary ecosystems and move toward collaboration environments that are secure, transparent, and fully aligned with European values and regulatory expectations.”
