Starting today, Wire is introducing a fresh chat experience. What does that mean? App messages now appear as chat bubbles, with received messages grouped on the left and your own on the right, creating a clearer, more natural flow to every conversation.

Wire’s Lead Product Designer, Wolfgang Lattermann, sums up the goal: make secure communication feel effortless. “Even though a lot of complex encryption happens behind the scenes, users should never have to think about it,” he explains. “Our priority is to make communication in Wire feel natural and intuitive.”
That mindset shaped the new chat bubbles. “The conversation view is one of the most important parts of any messenger,” he says. “People are used to reading chats built with bubbles because it feels familiar and easy to follow. Adopting that design makes Wire feel more intuitive from the first message.”
