We’re excited to announce a major enhancement to the Wire iOS app - support for multiple accounts across multiple backends. With this release, we’re pushing the boundaries of flexibility and security for professionals and organizations using Wire across different environments.
What's New?
Wire has always supported multiple accounts on iOS, but previously they had to belong to the same backend (e.g., all on Wire Cloud or all on the same on-prem instance).
With the new multi-backend support, you can now:
- Connect up to three accounts as before, now with support for different backends.
- Log in to accounts from different backends, whether they’re on Wire Cloud or Wire On-Premises or Wire Private Cloud.
- Keep each account completely isolated, with no data crossover or interference.
- Push notifications, preferences, and account settings are scoped to the specific account. No cross-account leakage.
