Hello there, Wire Users! We’re excited to announce a new process that allows you to upgrade from a Wire personal account to a Wire Teams account. We wanted to empower our personal users by providing a seamless way to upgrade and access team features without losing your cherished history and contacts. With just a few simple steps, you can unlock a whole new world of secure collaboration! With the assurance that your conversations remain secure through Wire's delightfully invisible end-to-end encryption, ensuring that your information is protected and only accessible to you and your team. All you need is an invitation from your Wire Team account admin. We’ll now guide you through the process.
What’s New in Wire!
With this upgrade, we’re introducing two exciting options for personal Wire users:
- Join an Existing Team: Easily integrate into a team environment.
- Create Your Own Team: Start your own team and invite others to collaborate.
Personal Wire users can now Join an Existing Team effortlessly! Here’s what you can look forward to:
- Audio and Video Calling: Enjoy clearer communication with team members. You can easily join or start a call.
- Larger Call Capacity: Take advantage of large group calling, 1-click away.
- Advanced Security Features: Benefit from restricted file sharing, large conference call moderation, and more - making your work life both easier and secure.
- Change Availability Status: Keep your team updated on your availability.
- Enhanced Group Features: Unlock more features in group conversations, including read receipts and notification settings.

How to Join an Existing Team
Transfer your personal account to a team. Just a few simple clicks, and you’re in without losing your history!

- Get an Invite: You’ll need an invite from a Wire Teams account admin—like a golden ticket!
- Click the Link: Open the invite and get ready for action.
- Provide Credentials : Add in the username and Password
- Accept the terms and conditions: read the accept the terms of use and Click "Join Team"
- Enter the password to proceed
6. Success: You've joined the Team
How to create a new team?
- Select Create Wire Team in your main navigation (left sidebar) or profile
2. Select Continue
3. Select a team name and Continue
4. Accept the terms and conditions: read the accept the terms of use and select “Create Team”
5. Success:You are now the owner of the team. Return to Wire or open team management to invite people to join your team and adjust settings.
