Introducing Wire’s New Ringtone for 2026

We wanted to start 2026 on a fresh note, literally.

That’s why we’re excited to announce that Wire now has a brand-new ringtone, available across all platforms: Web, iOS, and Android.

How We Chose the New Ringtone

At the end of December 2025, we ran a survey to find a new ringtone that truly represents Wire. The survey was shared both internally and externally, giving our community a direct voice in shaping the sound of Wire.

Based on the survey results, Wire Ringtone A received the highest number of votes and was selected as our new official ringtone. The choice reflects a balance of clarity and personality, a sound that feels distinctly “Wire”. You can check it out here:

Public Release on February 2nd on All Platforms

The new ringtone is now active in our beta releases and will go live and publicly available on all platforms on February 2nd. 

No action needed, just update to the latest version and you’ll start hearing it.
