Intelligent Waves teams up with Wire, a secure collaboration platform to deliver end-to-end encrypted messenger, voice and video conferencing solutions for federal government agencies.
Intelligent Waves LLC, one of the leading IT systems integrators has inked a partnership with Wire, a secure collaboration platform to deliver customizable, secure collaboration solutions for government agencies. The system integrator will leverage Wire’s platform to build and deliver tailor-made collaboration solutions for federal government agencies.
The solutions include end-to-end encrypted messenger, voice, video conference calls, and file sharing among other features. Talking about the growing number of vulnerabilities in collaboration tools, Morten Brøgger, CEO at Wire shared, “Convenience came at a cost — the features that apparently helped boost productivity also created many vulnerabilities for cybercriminals to exploit.”
He adds, “It has become clear that tools that are developed with ease-of-use, high integrations and simplicity in mind have chronic security issues.” He cites Zoom’s third-party routing, zoombombing, and lack of encryption as examples.
In May, CyberArk found a subdomain vulnerability in Microsoft Teams. Additionally, in 2019, government agencies saw a barrage of cyberattacks, with more than 70 U.S. state and local governments falling victim to ransomware.
Intelligent Waves and Wire’s partnership will see the integration of Wire’s collaboration platform with Hypori, a virtual smartphone solution. Hypori is a military-grade solution and enables bring your own devices (BYOD) by facilitating users to perform tasks on personal devices without worrying about exposing sensitive information.
Its zero-footprint technology ensures controlled data remains on the network and not endpoints, and the other data is completely separated from the user’s personal device data, both physically and virtually.
Hypori is leveraged by the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community.
As part of the partnership, Intelligent Waves through its Federal Solutions Group will deliver both hardware and software-based services for governments. John Hammes, Senior Director of Innovation Research & Development at Intelligent Waves said, “Our federal agency clients will benefit from our new capability to integrate Wire along with Hypori, to meet the mission-critical security requirements.”
Even as the pandemic abates, a hybrid work environment is expected to become the norm. Brøgger notes, “As that happens, the rate of successful cyberattacks will only increase unless organizations take aggressive defensive measures. It will require a paradigm shift in how companies manage the mobility and security of data at scale. Failing to do so will result in a dangerously high level of vulnerability to data breaches, loss of customer trust and significant financial loss — something businesses will not be able to afford in the uncertain economic future.”
