Wire, the world’s most secure collaboration platform, has been selected as the winner of the inaugural Secure Communications Solution of the Year Award at the prestigious Cybersecurity Breakthrough Awards, beating 3,499 competitors to take home the prize.

The award provides further industry recognition and credibility for Wire’s encrypted collaboration platform, which has also previously been recognized by analyst firms Gartner and Forrester for its leading-edge collaboration solutions.

Wire CEO Morten Brøgger said: “This award goes to show how fast we are growing as a company and that within the industry itself we are being seen as a real force. Wire has already been recognized by both Forrester and Gartner as one of the most effective and secure communication platforms out there, our customers enjoy working with us and now we’ve picked up a major award ahead of some big names. And to think that we only started in 2018. Rest assured there is plenty more to come from us!”

Since 2017, the Cybersecurity Breakthrough Awards annually perform one of the deepest evaluations of the information security industry to select and highlight the year’s “breakthrough” cybersecurity solutions and companies. This year introduced the Secure Communications Solution of the Year award, which received 3,500 nominations from across the globe. Previous year’s winners across the various award categories have included Palo Alto Networks, Experian, Blackberry, McAfee and Okta.

All nominations are evaluated by an independent panel of experts within the information security industry, with the winning products and companies selected based on a number of different criteria, including the level of innovation and technological advancement of products and services.

The awards program is part of the Tech Breakthrough market intelligence organization, which has been providing intelligence and recognition programs within the enterprise tech world since 2014. The organization works across a range of sectors including the Internet of Things (IoT), digital health, mobile and wireless, FinTech, Artificial Intelligence, and cybersecurity.

The award win comes at a time of great momentum for Wire, following the launch of its ‘Odds of a Bad Bet’ report. The report, developed in collaboration with poker champion Liv Boeree, details the alarming scale of risks businesses are up against in a time when email is proving an open door for cybercriminals and malicious actors looking to disrupt, exploit and destroy businesses.
